Whew! That is somewhat of a mouthful to say. There has been a lot of hype about The Face Shop's New Zealand Volcanic Clay Blackhead Clay Nose Pack and as I am unfortunately plagued with far from flawless pores I jumped at the opportunity to try this!

There is a daily battle between me and the blackheads on my nose *sigh*. I have tried nose strips before and those work fine, but with so much excitement over this product it seemed like it could be nothing less than amazing. It's actually so popular that every time I went to The Face Shop store I frequent here in LA it was sold out, with the owner telling me it is one of their most popular items. They also said it was unknown when they would be receiving another shipment. Alas, I ordered through Amazon and eagerly waited the two weeks for my little package to arrive from Korea.
I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, but it is very sticky! Be warned, you have to apply this immediately for it to spread the right way. I also learned the hard way that leaving the cap open while you do so causes a buildup to start forming in the tip. So keep it closed while you apply! A thick application works best for this nose pack. Be prepared to let it dry for 30 mins! It says on the tube that it takes 10-15, but sometimes that just isn't enough time for it to fully dry and it has to be totally dry or it won't work at all.
Sorry, I know the picture below is gross! I'm not entirely sure how well you can see the results. In my opinion it works well, but not great! To be honest maybe my expectations were way too high because of all the hype, but I'm a little bummed. Don't get me wrong, it does work to an extent, but every time I use this, there are still a lot of blackheads left on my nose. It seems to do just as good a job as nose strips that I've tried. However, I still prefer this to nose strips because you get way more uses out of it and you can shape it to any area you want! You don't have to worry about cutting a strip to the right shape and you don't have to buy 3 different products to do one job. This can just go anywhere on your face and for that it's really convenient.
xo,
Oh wow, only $6? I should ask my dad to pick this up for me when he goes back to Hong Kong in August. I don't have serious blackhead issues, just minimal ones, so hopefully this will work for me. If not, it's still going to be nice for TLC days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up! Are there are any anti-acne Asian products you recommend, like spot treatment? My hormonal acne (teenage years...well technically I just turned of age, but I digress), is extremely irritating!

Hi Ariette! Thanks for reading! :) I think that this might work great for you since you don't have a huge problem with blackheads. As far as a spot treatment goes, I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard really great things about the Etude House AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot! I haven't tried too many Asian acne products cause my skin has been really great until recently -_____- So I'm thinking of ordering that! It's worth a try!
DeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review! I was looking at kpop stuff on soompi and came across this so I googled it and I also found your review. From everything I got so far it seems like it works pretty okay. I tried two things to get rid of my black heads but I guess it doesn't really work that well. I tried the Biore porestrips and Michelle Phan's DIY pore strips but it was not super effective): Do you know of any moisturizers that work well? I heard Etude House was pretty good haha. I want to learn Korean too! ^____^
Thanks for reading all of this!
Hi Cassandra! Thanks for stopping by my little blog! It's awesome that you like kpop and awesome you want to learn Korean (double awesome lol)! It's such a beautiful language and I love love kpop! Anyway...haha the Etude House brand is one of my favorites and as far as a moisturizer goes from them, many people rave about their Collagen Moistfull line. I have tried it and liked it, but my absolute favorite everyday moisturizer is the Hada Labo (Japanese brand) Gokujyun toner/milk, which I have reviewed on my blog! Hope it helps!! xo
DeleteYeah it definitely did! Thanks for the recommendation haha(:
ReplyDeletehey, i want to ask somethin.... it worked for blackhead, but is it also worked for whiteheads? i just want to know from anyone who already tried and experienced with this stuff before i'll look for this one. could u give me your opinion? thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi! I really would not recommend this for whiteheads as it might end up irritating your skin further in that area. I think whiteheads are a lot more sensitive and the Volcanic Clay Nose Pack is really sticky and meant just to pull the gross gunk out. Hope that helps!! xo
Deleteawww thanks for the review!
ReplyDeletecheck out mine maybe please?

Deleteo (≧ ∇ ≦ o) awww thanks for the lovely compliment~
Deletethanks for the follow (◕ ‿ ◕ ✿) !
I'm still debating to buy it, or not... I've tried nose strips and they worked. But it was quite paiful to remove them. xD
ReplyDeleteLol well trust me this one hurts just as much as the strips! I mean it's worth it because it does help a lot and it lasts waaayyyy longer than the strips, but if you don't want it to hurt at all I'd look for something else. Thanks for visiting!! ^__^ xo
DeleteI just got this product in the mail yesterday from Korea, and you took the words right out of my mouth! It was very sticky, and believe it or not, I am not a fan of it for my nose. I will stick to strips for my nose, but I also spread it on my chin (I have pretty bad blackheads all over, my nose and chin are problem areas) This clay was more than perfect for my chin! FYI to anyone else that has pores other than the nose ;)
ReplyDeleteLol! Yes I was hoping it would work better for the nose, but at least it lasts a LONG time and for that I'd say it's better than the strips. Mine still hasn't run out months later ^^
